It has been a while since we last had fish, so we have opted to setup the old fish-tank again. The decision to go for tropical was unanimous. They are cleaner and less destuctive than Gold fish. The ones we have had in the past, seem to have had mental problems, so all in all quite normal for us.
We bought a heater for the tank, not that it will get much use as the temp rarely drops below cold here – well it does outside but rarely inside. We bought an air pump and a flexible air stone, that gives off a nice bubble effect at the back of the new rock formation taking up half of the tank. Pictures to follow.
I tested the water today and added some PH up, as the water is not quite right for the choice of fish. I will test again tomorrow and hopefully we can go out and get a few fish to start the tank off again. Luckily the substrate and filter medium will be helpful as we have had fish in this tank before, so no new tank syndrome. The pump has been running for 2 weeks or just under here and about the same time again in the previous house, before we had to move out.
Sam is after Gourami and maybe some Angel fish. I want a shark and some guppies, so will do some research on what fish and ph etc we can have.
