Well, it has been five days in since being diagnosed diabetic. So far it has been without issue. Monitoring my blood every day, 3- 4 times can make you a little paranoid about what you eat. It’s hard to imagine the kind of food and sugar content I have been consuming these past years. After eating what I would have considered to be non-junk food and a daily staple, turns out to be very high in sugar. Beware the low fat foods, they contain sugar.
We went shopping the other day and bought some food for me to take to work. After spending some time reading the labels, I certainly had my eyes opened. Something as simple as Bread, contains sugar, whichever tye of bread you eat. Wheatgerm seems to be the way to go, Low GI and so on.
My Sugar intake in my coffee and tea has reduced to zero and I have to say, I almost can feel a difference and have noticed a slight change in the stomache region. Hopefully when I visit my Doctor on Thursday morning, my weight should have dropped a tad. Yet more test’s and blood pressure. Hopefully that has reduced too. All that remains for me to do is print out my Blood Glucose tests.
