Don’t you just love doing this part? Luckily I haven’t got too much to drag across, except for this. e-mail has already been done except for Sam’s stuff. All that remains for me to do is export the blog and import to the new server. Thank god wordpress has that feature, else I would be stuffed. Sure, I could attempt to export/download the mysql file, but I want the thing in its entirety!
The e-mail support for the new host is quick and friendly, they don’t reply with an attitude. The overal performance from my point of view is that the whole service is more responsive. The control panel is quick and NEW, ie, Updated to a later version. I am not limited to space, so I can upload the photo’s and start the gallery again.
All of this before I fly out to Melbourne. Its going to be a long night and my head feels like its going to fall off.
<Captains Log Additional>
I got another Domain name – and no Mr Thecko its not what you think it might be, unlike my late night boredom at Via - My rude domain name fest.
andybarrow.com.au free for 2 years, splendiferous!!!!

well, having been with my current host for too long, I have found a quicker company. Web space is listed as unlimited and a decent monthly data package, unlike my first host here in Oz, which was a good service, just limited in what they offered. I will be making changes this week, so expect a few outages untill I get everything back.
The blog being of major importance to me at this stage. Luckily the new host has Upgraded WordPress – unlike the slackers I am with now. I could install wordpress myself, but they would probably moan or block the account, due to some hidden terms and conditions.
More on all this later

My G4 Mac has been shipped!!!!
Thursday, May 10th, 2007
Ahhhhh, its only a matter of time before my latest purchase off the dreaded eBay arrives. Sam got an e-mail wednesday night to say it had been shipped, complete with online tracking details. At the moment it says, its in transit from Melbourne to Sydney. Time frame is 1-2 business days, so should have it tomorrow all being well.
So hopefully by tomorrow night I will have a new toy to play with this weekend.

Relaunching an Old Site
Thursday, May 10th, 2007
Its been a while, since I did anything of any importance to this old site, so here goes. www.the-keys.com.au is being relaunched (or depending on how annoying the flash gets, launched through the window), also comments have been made available for people to use…..

Well, seeing as I have lived here for a wee while and this blog has been running for an even shorter time, I thought it best to add some links to sites based on where I am and where I live, so now you can have a wander round this beautiful part of the world and not even leave your armchair/swivel chair or bed

Well the machine was complaining about many things and a few time I had left my PC on and woke up to a beautiful beeping sound eminating from my room, so it was time to FDISK, LOW LEVEL FORMAT and start again. Once more I have to go through the activation process and get some Indian Person with poor english skills telling me to enter 8 million digits into the activation code screen and asking how many computers that my version of XP Pro is running on, even though they say that NO Personal information is sent or recorded – PIGS ARSE!!
Anyway once we got over the language barrier, my machine is once more functional. I have yet to install the various programs I use and complete the last 700 Gig of priority updates of which 368.3 Gig has already been downloaded and installed. I was suprised that all the usual stuff I had to install was ready to hand save for a few disks, but I just downloaded the updated files from various sites.
This weekend has been an intersting one to say the least. Our beloved next door neighbour decided to switch his brain for his arse hole. He came close to having me punch his fekking lights out, thankfully I refrained once I had calmed down. I had dealings with a similar butt wipe back in the UK, over my dogs there, but now things are different. It all began with a request from our neighbour for the estate agent we go through, as we rent this property, due to house prices here in Sydney being a tad ridiculous. Anyway, we gave the address and contact details to him as he wants to replace the fence we currently share with a new 6 foot colorbond fence, he also uttered the words that the dogs are scaring his kids. This has never been a problem per say, except that the dogs do bark and one does run at the fence, but has never attempted to jump the fence. More to the point, the kids do throw their tennis balls and footballs over the fence and invariably the dogs get to them before we can.
However, they have been known to torment the dogs by banging on the fence and also have been known to throw heavy objects over the fence too. My Wife got a phone call from the agent and wanted to know what was going on, to which my Wife had no idea as to what the agent was going on about. Once she told her about the conversations, we all put two and two together to make Four. He just wants a new bloody fence at ALL costs! He had threatened to goto the police and the Council with regards to the dogs, but had never spoken to us about it. Fuck WITT!!!!!
With that in mind, Saturday afternoon, both myself and the missus went up the road to have a coffee with familly. When we returned there was a card in the screen door from the Ranger. The fucking armpitt had phoned the council and reported the dogs. If he had been home, he would be sucking his food through a straw or IV Drip by now, I was ropeable.
The following morning we got a call from the Ranger, as my wife had sent the guy an e-mail outlining what had been going on, thankfully he was in total agreement and considered the matter closed, as we have lived here for over 12 months now and this is the frst time anything like this has happened, purely because the shitty little drama queen next door wants his nice new fence. I just hope they make the fence 20 feet high so I don’t have to see the stupid twat when I am sat outside.
Some people are just pathetic, I hope the police come too, so he can be charged with wasting their time, I am sure he wont leave it there, even though there isn’t much else he can do. Fortunately we have excellent landlords and the agency we use is superb.
Ok rant over with, Saturday night was Earth Hour, which meant that the whole of Sydney was supposedly going to go dark. The amount of greenhouse gas was going to be measured and compared to what we normally burn. It was interesting to see others not observing Earth Hour, not suprising really even fuck knuckles next door didn’t. We did and used candles instead of Light bulbs and ate our meal outside on the deck. It was nice to kick back Saturday night and unwind, especially after the afternoons performance.
I spoke with my mother too on Saturday morning, who appears to be quite good in both spirits and health considering what she is facing. She will be seeing her doctor on Wednesday, for the full story and procedures involved. I have asked her for his contact details or his office details so I can at least call him or his registrar and find out what is going to happen and prognosis. Either way, I think I will be paying a visit over there in the coming months I feel.
Ok, onto something a little more lite hearted – yayyyyy!!! I have re-added the calender, not that it makes this blog even more worthy of a visit, but its getting there.

The Deck Project part 2
Tuesday, February 27th, 2007
Sorry for not posting anything for a while, but due to time constraints with work and deck building – I just aint had time to scratch. Anyway, the deck is coming along nicely, just need to finish off on fitting the last hand rails and mitering the ends to sit flush and all will be 99% finished, save for the extra support needed for the middle part of the deck – bloody treated pine, I knew I should have used Hard Woods, but too frickin expensive. We went to Bunnings again tonite to get the extra support material and all is looking good. I bought a new tool aswell, Plane, albeit of the non powered variety, but will do the job nicely.
Work has been busy, the stock take has gone kinda well, but alas is not over yet. Bloody variances, that and a non-live system, which makes life difficult for all concerned. Ok enough of work. My Finger is starting to heal as is my eye! Yes my eye, which Sasha the big paddy paw pooch, decided to insert her whole paw into. So for the past few days, its been eye bath after saline bath and drops, finally the effort to heal myself has paid off.
Well my birthday has been and gone, 40 years old/young, although tonite, I feel old, let me tell you. Straight home from work and onto the deck building. The weekend was stock take and back home to start again, Sunday off, but no rest. Hammering 26 nails in by hand and of course a hammer, over the span of 30 boards is no mean feat. Its great to see all the hard work pay off, when you sit out and on your deck having dinner and drinkies. Thats the beauty here, we normally have the weather, but it has been wet for the past few days, weeks even. So between now and Saturday, I have to completely finish the deck, sort the gardens out and get ready the house for guests, as my 40th party is commencing. So now I am having a drink and chilling out, before I hit the pit and go into my coma.

I have now updated links and added forwarding pages, so that the blog can be found as per normal. All the domains have been moved and pointing to the right places I think/I hope. I will look into moving the blog to another spot depending on how I feel, until then this site should be as if nothing changed, apart from the different look.
